Gordon Ray Wells, 69, of 1706 McCulloch Ave., Owensboro, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at the Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Utica native was retired from Medley Distillery and Barton Brands where he worked in boiler room maintenance for 30 years. He was a member of the Sts Joseph and Paul Catholic Church; AMVets; and enjoyed NASCAR and University of Kentucky and Kentucky Wesleyan basketball and going to Goldies Opry House. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Olivia Faye Trodglen Wells in 1999.
He is survived by three sons, Jerry Wells of Owensboro , Joseph Wells of Utica and Greg Wells of Reo, IN; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchild; two brothers, Zachary Wells of Owensboro and James Wells of Bradenton, FL; four sisters, Beth Brown of Emerald Isle, NC, Paula Donovan of Owensboro, Judy Lebold of Glenville, KY, and Linda Wilson of Rumsey; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 10 A.M. Saturday, June 7, 2003 at STS Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call at the Glenn Funeral Home from 2-8 P.M. on Friday, June 6, 2003 and after 8:30 A.M. on Saturday.
