Gordon Lee Rhoades

Gordon Lee Rhoades, 75, of 807 Parkway Drive South, Owensboro, died Thursday, September 25, 2003 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. Mr. Rhoades was a lifelong oil driller, partnered in Rhoades-Trogden Drilling, and owner of Rhoades Garage. He was a member and deacon of Barnetts Creek Baptist Church. He was an Army Veteran of WWII. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Clay Rhoades in 1999.

Mr. Rhoades is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ethel B. Rhoades, three daughters, Janice Puckett and husband, David of Owensboro, Karen Pickerill and husband, Perry of Owensboro, and Kim Campbell of Hartford, KY, four grandchildren, Scott Rhoades, Stephanie Wilson, Keith Pickerill and Elizabeth Campbell, two step-grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, a sister, Rosalee Richardson of Owensboro, and a brother Lawrence Tookie Rhoades of Hartford.

Funeral services will be held Sunday September 28, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, and burial will be in Barnetts Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and after 12 noon Sunday, at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Barnetts Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
