Gordon Lacefield, 69, of Holly Ave, Owensboro, died Thursday, January 17, 2008, at the Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born June 26, 1938, to the late Samuel and Sue Ella Burris Lacefield in Muhlenberg County. He was a member of Crosspointe Baptist Church, had been a Mason, and had worked for Green Coal Company. He loved to fish, swim and play with his cat, "Lucky".
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Lacefield; his sons, Ranny Lacefield of Cloverport, Danny and Clifton Lacefield of Louisiana; his step-sons, William Gaddis of Henderson, and Michael Gaddis of Owensboro; his step-daughter, Vicky Adams of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Charlotte, Justin and Daniel Lacefield, and one great-granddaughter; three brothers, Michael Lacefield of Utica, Sammy and David Lacefield, both of Owensboro; three sisters, Peggy Whitaker of Frankfort, Brenda Johnson and Mary Ann Burns, both of Owensboro.
Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, at Glenn Funeral Home with entombment in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00 PM Friday, and after 8:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 319 West 10th Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
