Gordon William Cobb

Gordon William Cobb (Gordie), age 83, resided in Stockton, Utah, was welcomed into heaven on June 13, 2024 at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City from a battle of cancer with his loving family by his side.

Born January 24, 1941, to his mother Jo Wilda Brackett and father Charles Posey Cobb, and his only brother Jerry Cobb.

Gordon was happily married for 62 years to his beloved wife Rosie, they were the best of friends and soul mates inspiring others with their love and dedication to each other creating four children he was proud of.

He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy for four years. Gordon was an electrician for both residential and commercial properties working over twenty years in the family-owned business, Smalls Oxnard Electric then working for Leon Construction before his retirement. 

He enjoyed many hobbies such as fishing, shooting, kayaking, shooting pool, playing card games, driving the razor exploring, hunting for treasures at the thrift store, working in the yard on the tractor moving rocks and building walls and tinkering in the garage. Gordon was a man of great character; he was very charismatic with a sense of humor and was loved by all.

He was a man of faith, devoted Catholic and member of Saint Marguerite in Tooele, Utah. Gordon served in many ministries such as Marriage Encounter, RCIA (mentorship), Rainbow (ministry for children with divorced or deceased parents), Eucharist Minister and Prison Ministry leading bible study for male prisoners.

Gordon is preceded in death by his mother, Jo Wilda; his father, Charles; and brother, Jerry. He is survived by his wife, Rose and his children Robert Cobb (Lynn), Tina Adams (Joe), Karen Sanchez (Ted) and Dennis Cobb (Ana).

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Matthew Cobb, Kevin Cobb, Erin Cobb, Sidney Cobb, Sheadyn Cobb, Nicholas Adams (Aubrey), Kristen Adams, Kaitlin Sauer (Tony), Karynn Scaman (Patrick), Rebecca Adams, Amber Amason (Craig), Gabriel Sanchez (Heather), Amy Sanchez, Nathan Sanchez (Aki), Samantha Tarin (Stephen), Trevor Cobb, Dylan Cobb, Jacob Cobb, Brittany Razo (deceased), Alexander Schulte, Sara Schulte, Aleshia Love, Jessica Bradshaw and Alexander Bradshaw.

Great-grandchildren, Ellia May Perez, Tytan Cobb, Remington Adams, Johnathan Adams, Amelia Amason, Yuzuru Sanchez, Meguru Sanchez, Isaac Tarin, Noah Tarin, Reya Tarin, Mila Anderson and Anabella Schulte.

Services will be Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, located at 4029 Frederica Street, Owensboro, KY, Rosary at 11:30am followed with Mass at 12:00pm. Father Joe Schoettle will be officiating mass.

Burial at Saint Mary Magdalene Cemetery, located at 7232 Kentucky 56, Owensboro and Reception to follow burial at Our Lady of Lourdes Church Parrish Hall.
