Gonzado Joseph "Jack" Isbill, 88, of Sorgho, died Thursday, October 22, 2009, at Heritage Place. He was born June 22, 1921, to the late John and Margaret Hagan Isbill in Daviess County. He was retired from Layton Vending after 31 years of service. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, was a Navy Veteran of WW II, and enjoyed gardening, growing roses and being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Isbill on January 6, 2001, a sister, Ophelia Douglas, and a brother, Garland Isbill.
Survivors include his children; Michael Wayne (Debbie) Isbill of Springfield, TN, Sheila (Glen) Stewart, and Pat (Joe) Layson both of Owensboro; six grandchildren, Erica Hall, Heath (Amber) Layson, Derek (Shauna) Damin, Travis (Marissa) Isbill, Clint (Stephanie) Isbill, and Matthew Layson; seven great-grandchildren, Brittany Damin, Brooke Hall, Brandon Hall, Drew Damin, Elizabeth Layson, Sierra Isbill, and Trent Damin; a brother, Bernard Isbill of Plainsville, IL; and his dedicated care givers, Tracie Cissna and Erica Hall.
Services will be 10:00 AM Monday at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church with burial in St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery, with Military Honors. Visitation will be 2:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday, with prayers at 6:00 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation Monday will be after 8:30 AM at the funeral home.
