Goldie Mae Knott

Goldie Mae Knott, 85, of 2710 West Fifth Street, Owensboro, died Monday, January 23, 2006 at Hillcrest Healthcare Center. Born in Newburgh, IN, a daughter of the late Oscar E. and Maude Rivers Moore, Mrs. Knott had worked at General Electric, Mills Dime Store, Wyndall's Farm Store, and Big K. A member of St. Stephen Cathedral, she enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as the time she spent sewing and cooking. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Roy E. Moore and Oscar W. Moore and her sisters, Billie Orth and Lucy Bates.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, William Aubrey Knott; her son, Billy Martin Knott and his wife LaVonne, of Owensboro; her daughter, Becky Ann Burch and her husband Victor Stance of Palestine, TX; her grandchildren, Robert Knott and his wife Christina of Owensboro, Vicki Knobloch and her husband Mark of Houston, James Burch of Palestine, Cindi Wood and her husband Norris of Elkart, TX, and Barbara Coy and her husband Rodney of Palestine; her great-grandchildren, Jodi Hart and Cierra Knott of Owensboro, Chip Thompson of Tyler, TX, Goldie Dawn Thompson of Houston, James Garrett Burch of Palestine, Barbara Wood of Frankston, TX, Matthew Wood of Elkart, and Dylan Coy and Kaitlyn Coy, both of Palestine; her three great-great-grandchildren her brother, Daniel Moore of Owensboro; and her sisters, Margaret Bullington and Eloise Birkhead and her husband Maurice, all of Owensboro.

Services are at 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Stephen Cathedral, officiated by the Rev. John Vaughan. Visitation is from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home, where prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
