Golda Jennings Barker

Mrs. Golda Jennings Barker, 86, of 2005 Hughes Avenue, Owensboro, died Monday, April 18, 2005, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center. She was born August 19, 1918 to he late Estil and Lura Dell Rice Densford in Owensboro. She retired as a nurses aid at Owensboro Daviess County Hospital after 21 years. She was a member of Seven Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, L.D. Jennings in 1993; her second husband, Earl Barker in 1999; one son, Jackie Jennings in 1943; one daughter, Dorothy Roberts in 2000 and son-in-law, Earl Ray Roberts in 2004.

Survivors include three sons, David Lee Jennings and his wife, Martha of Whitesville, L. D. Jennings, Jr. and his wife, Karen of Owensboro, Larry Jennings and his wife, Julia of Owensboro; two daughters, Doris Mayes and her husband, Bobby of Owensboro, Linda Horton of Lexington; ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nellie Churchill and Hazel Potter, both of Lansing, MI and Bobby McElwain of Gray Summit, MO.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, at Glenn Funeral Home, with burial in Karns Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday and after 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
