Gloria June Norris

November 18, 1926 — January 27, 2007

Gloria June Norris, 80, of 1729 St. Marys Avenue, Owensboro, went to be with her heavenly father on Saturday, January 27, 2007 from Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. The Greenville native was born to the late Brank and Daisy (Southard) Norris, and was a homemaker and member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church. She sang in the choir and was a teacher of Girls in Action at Walnut Memorial, and her ministry was sending cards to members for birthdays, and other occasions. As a young lady she worked for the ration board in Greenville during World War II, and painted with oil colors. She loved her family, home and her beloved cat, Tiger. She also enjoyed cooking.

Mrs. Norris is survived by her husband of 49 years, Paul Norris, a son, Kevin and daughter Melissa Norris, all of Owensboro, sisters Sarah Winebarger of Greenville, and Sue Stearman and husband Jack of Gallatin, TN, and a cousin, Mary Lee Stone of Honolulu, HI.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at Walnut Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Hendricks officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. at Glenn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Girls in Action at Walnut Memorial Baptist Church, or to the American Cancer Society.
