Glenna Marie Metcalfe Simon, 34, of 3835 Thresher St., died Wednesday, January 22, 2003. She was born in Harlan County, Kentucky on October 14, 1968 the daughter of Herbert and Evelyn Scott Metcalfe.
She was a Social Work caseworker for Owensboro Mercy Health System and member of the Owensboro Christian Church where she taught the Zebra Kindergarten Sunday School Class. A graduate of Brescia University, she enjoyed caring for her children, her job, home decorating, white water canoeing, and traveling.
She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Robert David Simon; two daughters, Chandelor Grace Simon and Madison Taylor Simon both at home; two brothers, Herbert Hoover Metcalfe, Jr. of Centertown and Ambrose Metcalfe of Portsmouth, IN; and three sisters, Julie Little of Sturgis, Melinda Bishop of Centertown and Margaret Pence of Owensboro.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2003 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Myke Templeton. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2003 and after 9 a.m. on Saturday.
