Glenn Jackson, 81, of Owensboro, died Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Glenn was born July 11, 1931 in Owensboro to the late Arnold H. and Ida Belle (Elliott) Jackson. He graduated from Daviess Co. High "Class of 49". Glenn served in the United States Marine Corps and graduated from University of Kentucky with a B.S.E.E. He retired from GE/MPD where one of his highlights was assisting with operations / training of GE's Singapore division. Glenn was a long time active member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church. He served in many areas of the church and was a member of the New Beginnings Sunday School Class. He was also involved with the Owensboro Noon Civitan Club, Owensboro Rifle & Pistol Club, Owensboro Antique Car Club, Panther Express, Habitat for Humanity, Friendship Force, and I.E.E.E. He was very mechanically inclined yet humble and did not like to be in the spotlight. Glenn loved restoring cars especially Mustangs. He enjoyed traveling and gardening.

Glenn was also preceded in death by a wife, Mayme (Sampley) Jackson.

Survivors include his wife of 8 years, Bobbie Nation Jackson; children, Jeff (Carol) Jackson of Philpot, David (Kelli) Jackson of Indianapolis, IN, Sherri (Randall) Wilson of Canton, GA and Tom (Devetta) Jackson of Versailles; grandchildren, Taylor Wilson, Cameron and Nathan Jackson; a sister, Brenda (Phil) Kelly of Philpot; several loving extended family members.

Funeral services will be Monday at 10 am at Settle Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Darren Brandon officiating. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-6 pm at Glenn Funeral Home & Crematory.
