Glenn A. Hicks, 69, of Natchitoches, LA, formerly of Owensboro, died Saturday May 5, 2001 at Natchitoches Parrish Hospital. Mr. Hicks was born June 29, 1931 in Knott County Kentucky he was the son of Knonah Caudill Hicks of Florence and the late Elva Hicks.
Mr. Hicks was a retired letter carrier. He was a Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of Disabled American Veterans. He was a member of Hall Street Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing country western and gospel music on his guitar.
Survivors include two sons, Larry Glenn Hicks and Timothy Wayne Hicks, both of Owensboro; a daughter, Sharon Hicks Atherton of Owensboro; five grandchildren; his mother, Knonah Hicks of Florence; two brothers, Charles Hicks of Covington and Lloyd Hicks of Bellevue, Ohio; and a sister, Ruth Schroth of Fort Wright.
Friends may call at Glenn Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday May 8, 2001 and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday. Funeral services for Mr. Hicks will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday May 9, 2001 at Glenn Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Gary Faulls. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
