Glendon R. Midkiff

November 18, 1928 — February 25, 2007

Glendon R. Midkiff, Sr., 78 of 208 Byron Ct., Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Ohio Co., Ky. to the late O. B. Midkiff & Ruth Gray Neighbors. He was retired from Velvet Milk Co. and Prairie Farms Dairy after 40 years and was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He loved Nascar racing, spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and drag racing in which he raced from 1964 till 1978. He was a devoted Christian. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph & James Midkiff and four lost angels.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Artie Gibson Midkiff, a daughter and her husband, Penny & Mike Cook of Philpot, a son and his wife, Glendon R, & Gwen Midkiff, Jr. of Owensboro, a brother, Terry W. Midkiff of Falls of Rough, Ky., a sister, Dotty Gilbert of Utica, four grandchildren, Danny Cook, Darren & wife April Midkiff, Johnny & wife Mary Midkiff, and Kristi & husband Mike Wilson, and six great grandchildren, Alexis Cook, Tori Wilson, Lane Wilson, Harley Wilson, Austin Cook, Leslee Midkiff, and soon to be Nathan Glenn Midkiff.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 28, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with entombment following in Rosehill Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o James S. Cook, 6314 Highway 762, Philpot, Ky. 42366.
