Glenda Jo Adkisson, 59, of Owensboro, passed away March 21, 2017 while in the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born July 11, 1957 to Larry and Peggy Adkisson. Glenda was a resident of the Willis Green Group Home for many years and a member of First Baptist Church in Benton. She attended the workshop at the exceptional center every day. Glenda retired from Pizza Hut after 14 faithful years of service. Most recently, Glenda spent her last three years as a resident of the Colonial Terrace. To know Glenda was to love her! She loved Jesus and Elvis. One made her raise her hands in praise and the other made her break out in dance every time. Her other favorite things were family, friends, dancing, singing, bowling, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Mt. Dew, Camp Marc and U.K. Basketball. No matter the outcome of the game, the score was always "U.K. wins, zero losses!"
Glenda was preceded in death by her brother, Larry "Butch" Adkisson Jr.
She is survived by her Mother and Father; sister, Debra Cunningham (Barry); nieces, Carrie Koontz (Jason) and Stacye Cunningham (Nick); nephew, John Adkisson (Marissa) and several great-nieces and nephews and cousins.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2017 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00a.m. – 2:00p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
