Glen Snyder, 59, of Owensboro went to be with the Lord with a smile on his face Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Owensboro on February 20, 1953, Mr. Snyder worked at Baskin Robbins for 27 years and Packaging Unlimited for 7 years. He was a 52 year member of the Wesleyan Christian Center where he served as song leader for 23 years and was a faithful adult Sunday school teacher for 32 years. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and Poppy and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. Mr. Snyder was loyal and committed to his family and friends and was a huge UK basketball fan. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Rev. Homer Snyder and George and Mary McMahan.

Surviving is his wife of 39 years, Darlene Williams Snyder; sons, Brian (Stephanie) Snyder of Owensboro, Jeff (Melissa) Snyder of Johnson City, TN, and Joey (Kelly) Snyder of Hopkinsville; grandchildren, Austin Brown, Aly Snyder, Garrett Snyder, Noah Snyder, Gavin Snyder, and Grace Snyder; his parents, Jim and Bonnie McMahan Snyder; a grandmother, Hazel Snyder of Owensboro; a sister, Susan McCarthy of Owensboro; a brother, Sherman Snyder of Maceo; and many nieces, nephews, and a sister-in-law who were very special to Glen.

Services are 12 noon Friday, March 16, 2012 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Wil Beers and Rev. Dan Tilley officiating followed by burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Sorgho. Visitation will be from 2-7 p.m. on Thursday and after 10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
