Gladys P. Prater

Gladys P. Mammaw Prater, 89, of 4122 Fox Run Lane, Owensboro died Thursday, March 31, 2005 at her home. She was born in Whitley County, Kentucky and was a member of Ridgewood Baptist Church. Mrs. Prater retired from Home Furniture Company after more then 20 years of service. Her husband, Rev. Joseph C. Prater, preceded her in death in 1987; a daughter, Helen Joann Prater in 1961, and a grandson, Terry Wayne Prater, also preceded her in death in 1993.

Survivors include three sons, Bro. Ronald J. Prater of Owensboro, James L. Prater and his wife Wanda of Ft. Myers Beach, FL, and Dr. Bryan N. Prater and his wife Sue of Maysville; five grandchildren, Ronald J. Prater, Jr. and Cynthia Satterfield, both of Owensboro, Dr. Stephanie Walton of Louisville, Jill Prater of Washington, DC and Joseph Bryan Prater of Chicago; 10 great-grandchildren; one great great grandchild; sister, Irene Peace of Williamsburg, KY, three brothers, Coman Peace of Morrow, OH, Eugene Peace of West Chester, OH and Ray Peace of La Follette, TN and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Ridgewood Baptist Church with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and after 12:00 p.m. Saturday at the church.
