Gina Gay Thompson

Gina Ferrell Thompson, 49 of Owensboro, Ky., passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born in Daviess Co., Ky. and was retired from the Owensboro Public School System and was previously employed by Dr. William J. Aud, the Lipton Co., and the Daviess County Vocational School. She was a 1972 graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School and had attended Western Ky. University. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She was a kind and loving person who dedicated herself to her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, boating, UK basketball, dancing, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Bailey Michelle Smith Thompson in November, 1999.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Philip, her son, and daughter-in-law, Andy & Amy Thompson, her daughter, Katie Thompson and her fiance, Vic Stallings, 2 grandchildren, Dylan Thompson and Zachary Stallings, all of Owensboro. She is also survived by her mother, Catherine Ferrell, and brother and sister-in-law, Bobby & Tonya Ferrell, all of Owensboro. She is also the beloved sister-in-law of Sandy Thompson, Bill & Debbie Thompson, and Becky & Jerry Payne, and mother-in-law Alberta Hagan, all of Owensboro, and several nieces & nephews.
She has also been blessed with an Uncle, who was like a father to her, John Trogdlen, and honorary sisters from Vero Beach, Fl.and Carmi, Il., and a friend, who was also like a father to her, Johnny Lopez of Houston, Tx. She has had special loved ones throughout her life that comforted her during her illness, her cousins, Sharon Pollard of Carmi, Il, Evangeline Inklebarger of Owensboro, and longtime friend, Marsha Howard of Owensboro.
Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 19, 2003, at St. Pius X Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, September 18, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. with prayers held at 6:00 P.M. and after 10:00 A.M. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home.
