Gilbert R. Buck

Gilbert R. Buck, 71, of Owensboro, passed away February 15, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Mr. Buck was born December 16, 1944 in Hancock County to the late Cicero and Ethel McMann Buck. He was known as a hardworking man, a pipefitter-plumber by trade, who retired from Gibbs Die Casting and was recently working for Mechanical Systems. Mr. Buck was known as a selfless man who always served others first but who also loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and eating breakfast with his buddies at the Cadillac.

Mr. Buck was preceded in death by his wife Delores and son Ryan both in 2001.

Survivors include his wife, Fatima Maria Buck; sons, Darian Buck of Owensboro, Scott "Hub" Buck and wife Kristie of Knottsville; step-sons, Arthur and Augusto Figueiredo of Brazil; grandchildren, Meagan Lyons, Chase Buck, Maddy Buck, Molli Buck, Mason Buck, Athos and Joaquim Figueiredo; brothers, Wayne Buck of Pellville, Dennis Buck and wife Anna Mae of Knottsville; "like a daughter", Mary Rose Howard; several nieces and nephews.

The service will be Friday February 19 at 2:00 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Fr. Carl McCarthy officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 and from 12:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
