Gertrude Bryant Payne of Philpot passed away at Signature Healthcare at Hillcrest on Sunday, August 21, 2016. Mrs. Payne was born September 7, 1930 in Tobinsport, Indiana to the late Charles Arnold Bryant and Susan McFall Bryant.
Mrs. Payne was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Fay Payne in 1991 and two brothers, Velois and Gervis Bryant.
She was employed at General Electric in the tube department and as a bookkeeper for Art's Automotive of Philpot. Gertrude enjoyed traveling with her husband throughout most parts of the United States. She loved sewing, reading, gardening, canning, movies, but most of all her family.
Survivors include her two daughters, Linda Hatfield and husband Joe of Reynolds Station, Debbie Schadler and husband Greg of Curdsville; son, Steven Payne and wife Cheryl of Philpot; grandchildren, Philip Hatfield, Jessie, Zach, Seth, and Allie Schadler, Jordan Payne, and Chelsey Gilbert and husband Cory; four great grandchildren.
There will be a private service and burial with the family at Owensboro Memorial Gardens with arrangements being made by Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
