Gerald Tarr "Jerry" Moseley, Sr.

Gerald Tarr "Jerry" Moseley, Sr., 89, of Owensboro, passed away August 29, 2025. Born in Columbia, MO on January 29, 1936, to the late William and Elizabeth Tarr Moseley, Jerry spent his life rooted in the values of kindness, humor, and hard work. He was known as the proud owner of Harry Holder Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, where he built more than just a successful business. He built trust, friendships, and a reputation for sending people home with more than just a new car, but a smile on their face.

Cars were his trade, but people were his passion. Whether you knew him for five minutes or fifty years, Jerry made you feel like you were part of his extended family. An avid sports fan, proudly cheering for both the Missouri Tigers and the Kentucky Wildcats, his passion for his teams was matched only by his love for the game of golf. A longtime member of the Owensboro Country Club, Jerry notched not one, but two holes-in-one.

When he wasn’t at work, on the golf course, or watching a game, Jerry could often be found at his favorite restaurant, Cheddar’s. A true regular, he was there several times a week, and the staff knew him well enough to keep a spot open. It was one of the many places where his warmth, humor, and familiar presence made people feel at home. He also had a love for animals, especially his dogs, and welcomed many into his home through the years.

At the heart of Jerry’s life was his family, which was his true passion and greatest source of joy. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Ann Holder Moseley, sharing more than fifty-five years of love, laughter, and partnership. His children were the pride of his life, and he never missed a moment to celebrate their successes, offer guidance, or share a good steak cooked in only a way Jerry knew. As a grandfather, Jerry’s love expanded even further, showering his grandchildren with affection and wisdom. His family was the center of his world, and everything he did was rooted in ensuring their happiness and well-being.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and brother, William J. Moseley.

He is survived by, children, Kimberly Moseley Taylor and her husband Monty of Colorado Springs, CO, Kristin Moseley Wilkerson and her husband Todd of Owensboro and Jerry Moseley, Jr. and his wife Shannon of Birmingham, AL; and grandchildren, Shelby Lynn Taylor, Noah Montgomery Taylor, Paul Kyler Wilkerson, Samuel Lee Wilkerson, William Nichols Moseley and Jack Grantham Moseley.
