Gerald "Jerry" E. Millay, 72, of Masonville, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at his home. He was born September 5, 1945 in Daviess Co. to the late Eugene and Mary Seaton Millay. Jerry was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church and was retired from Modern Welding after 45 years as a truck driver. He was a U. S. Marine Corps Reserve veteran having served from 1963 until 1969 and was a member of the Marine Corps League, and the American Legion Post #9. Jerry had been involved in numerous Civil War Reenactments and many Veterans Memorial Services and Events. He was a 1964 graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School, enjoyed bluegrass music and playing his banjo, and was supporter of Toys for Tots. Jerry was also preceded in death by a sister, Connie Powers and his son-in-law, Chris Quisenberry.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Brenda Jolly Millay, his son, Gerald "Jerry" E. Millay II and his wife Patty of Owensboro, his daughter, Stephanie Millay Quisenberry of Owensboro, grandchildren, Caitlin Semian, Emily and Sophia Houser, and Grant (Megan) Smith, all of Owensboro, and Adam Smith of Louisville, great grandchildren, Ella Grace Darnell and Josephine Rose Smith, four brothers, Tony (Mary) Millay, Larry Millay, and Ken Millay, all of Owensboro, and Fred (Sherry) Millay of Knottsville, two sisters, Jody (Rick) Williams of Philpot and Marla (Mike) Hayden of Owensboro, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 6, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery with full military honors.. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Friday with prayers at 6:30 P.M. and from 8:30-9:30 A.M. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
