Gerald R. Couden

Gerald R. "Jerry" Couden, 78, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2010 at his home. He was born on December 25, 1931 in Warren Co., OH to the late William Van and Viola Sertel Couden. He was retired after 41 years as Manager of Gas Control with Texas Gas. He was a member of Wesleyan Heights United Methodist Church and was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Jerry lived in Lebanon, OH for his first 28 years before moving to Owensboro about 51 years ago. He loved spending time with his family, raising flowers especially roses, bird watching, and cooking.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Betty M. (Emerick) Couden, his son, Daniel Couden and wife Nancy of St. Louis, MO, his daughter, Cheryl Stevens and husband Thomas of Bowling Green, KY, three grandchildren, Leslie D. Couden of St. Augustine, FL, Stephen P. Couden of Louisville, and Joel M. Stevens of Bowling Green.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 13 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2:00-5:00 P.M. Sunday and after 1:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
