Gerald W. Blandford Jr., 46, of Indianapolis, died Saturday, November 8, 2008 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born in Owensboro August 22, 1962, was of the Catholic Faith, and was a graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School and Brescia College. He was employed as a dealership consultant for the Five Star Team with Chrysler. He played a key role in getting the 2008 Five Star program back on the street and had also been recipient of numerous awards from Chrysler. He was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed U.K. basketball and Indianapolis Colts football.
He was preceded in death by his father; Gerald W. Blandford Sr. in 2002, his paternal grandparents; Joseph E. and Maude E. Blandford, and maternal grandparents; Thomas Y. and Imelda Murphy.
Surviving is his mother; Doris Murphy Blandford of Owensboro, two sisters; Tamra (Kevin) Burcham of Owensboro and Beth (Shawn) Hunter of Indianapolis, nieces; Emily Burcham and Claire Hunter, a nephew; Eric Burcham, several uncles, aunts and cousins.
A funeral mass will be held Thursday, November 13, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with Fr. Ray Goetz and Fr. John Meredith officiating. No visitation prior to services is planned and interment will be private. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Owensboro Catholic High.
