Georgia Lee Nave, 92, passed away Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, in Knoxville, TN. She was born in Daviess County and lived there for 84 years before moving to Knoxville. Georgia Lee was an avid quilter and was a charter member of the Owensboro Quilters Group. She was generous with her time and resources, and enjoyed serving others. Georgia Lee was a homemaker, great cook, neighborhood historian, second mother to lots of kids, a doer of good deeds. She loved plants, entertaining, and Christmas. A member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church, she also attended Masonville Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Nave; son, P. J. Nave; and granddaughter, Kelly Krahwinkel. She is survived by her son, Ralph B. Nave (Donna); her daughter, Lyda Krahwinkel (D. J.); daughter-in-law, Nancy Nave Marshall; and "adopted" son, Don Bray. Also survived by her grandsons, Kevin Krahwinkel (Pam), Paul Nave (Arretta), Bill Nave (Meredith), Todd Nave (Amy), and Lonnie Nave (Laura). Great-grandchildren include Samantha Nave, Mollie Nave, Morgan and Brooklyn Nave, Noah and Eli Nave, Lauren and Brenna Krahwinkel, and Nicholas and Catherine Spurlock.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. with interment immediately following at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Oneida Baptist Institute, P.O. Box 67, Oneida, KY 40972, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
