Georgette Howard

Georgette Howard, 54, of Lexington died, May 19, 2015 at Heartland Villa Center in Lewisport, KY after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. She was born in Owensboro to George and Adrian Howard. During her working years, Georgette was a faculty member at the University of Kentucky - College of Pharmacy. She graduated from Daviess Co. High School in 1978. She received her B.S. degree from WKU, Doctorate degree in Biochemistry from University of Louisville and Postdoctoral research at University of Michigan. She will be remembered for her generosity to family and friends, great sense of humor, and love of dance, music and travel. She greatly appreciated all the caregiving help she received in Lewisport from the Heartland Villa staff and her relatives, especially her aunts: Georgene Poole and Eva Howard and cousins: Eva Poole, David Poole, Melissa Marsch Grimes, and Tom Howard.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Howard in 2005. Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Jerry Grooms; her mother, Adrian (Marsch) Howard; sister, Theresa Howard; mother-in-law, Pat Grooms; sister-in-law, Kathy Keller; brother-in-law, Michael Grooms; niece- Lindsey Head and nephews- T. Scott Grooms and Ryan Grooms.
Services are Friday, May 22 at 10:00amCT at St. Columba Church in Lewisport KY Burial follows at- Utility Cemetery (Hancock County)
Visitation is Thursday, May 21 at Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro from 4:00-8:00pm.
