Sister Georgetta Higdon, 95, an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph of Maple Mount, KY, died December 20, 2002 at the Mount Saint Joseph Motherhouse. She was in her 73rd year of religious life.
An educator for 57 years, the St. Lawrence, KY native ministered as principal, teacher, librarian, and music teacher at Blessed Mother, Sts. Joseph and Paul, and Precious Blood in Owensboro; St. Elizabeth in Curdsville; St. Peter in Stanley; St Romauld in Hardinsburg; and other Kentucky and New Mexico Schools. She retired in 1988.
Survivors include a brother, Thomas A. Higdon of Lemon Grove, CA; and four sisters, Mary Rose Greenberg and Frances Marie O'Bryan both of Paducah, Ursula Reitzel of Cape Girardeau, MO, and Mary Aloysius Eger of Phoenix, AZ.
Services are 10:30 A.M. Monday, December 23, 2002 at Mount Saint Joseph Chapel, Maple Mount, KY with burial in the Convent Ceemtery. A wake service will be held at 6:30 P.M. CST on Sunday, December 22, 2002 at Maple Mount.
