George Edward Young

Mr. George Edward Young, 91, of 530 Yale Place, Owensboro, died, Sunday, May 27, 2001 at the Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Daviess County native was a member of First Christian Church and was retired from the American Tobacco Company after 50 years. Mr. Young was also a farmer, member of Woodmen of the World, and enjoyed fishing and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Nash Young in 1998 and four infant children.

Survivors include two sons, George W. Young of Owensboro and Donald E. Young of Murphreesboro, TN; a daughter, Nancy Carolyn Simpson of Owensboro; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Services are 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, May 30, 2001 at the Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-8 P.M., Tuesday, May 29, 2001 and after 9 A.M., Wednesday, May 30, 2001.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the First Christian Church Building Fund.
