George Clifton Roberts
April 13, 1907 — July 25, 2003
George C. Roberts, 96, of Owensboro died Friday, July 25, 2003 at the Bon Harbor Nursing and Rebabilitation Center. The Hancock County native was a farmer and member of the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mayme Roberts in 1954 and his second wife, Beulah Roberts in 1983. A son, David Roberts also preceded him in 2001.
He is survived by six daughters, Emogene Cooper, Mary Lavonne Cooper, Margaret Cox, Thelma Sue Cox, and Hazel Marie Mattingly all of Owensboro, and Martha Fay Cox of Hanson; thirty grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Monday, July 28, 2003 at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Lewisport Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 to 6 P.M. Sunday and after 9 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
