George M. Ralph

George Martin Ralph Sr., 80, of Harborside Nursing Home, died Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born December 24, 1927 in Daviess County to the late James Dester and Veronica Ann Ralph.

He retired from Clark Security of Evansville and was a member of Harvest Baptist Temple.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Sarah Patricia Ralph in 1968, and Jerry Irene Ralph in 1996. He was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Lindsey,brother Paul Eugene Ralph and two sisters, Mary Agnes Lancaster and Beatrice Westerfield.

Survivors include sons, George Martin (Marietta) Ralph Jr. and Dewayne Martin (Patty) Ralph both of Owensboro, Christopher Martin (Amy) Ralph of Minot, N.D., daughters, Patty Allen of Owensboro, Donna Willis of Calhoun, and Janice Wilson of Kansas City, M.O., brothers, Joseph Elmer Ralph, Thomas Gerald Ralph, and Robert Warren Ralph, all of Owensboro, James Willard Ralph of Evansville, I.N., sisters Virginia Pauline of Germany, and Ruth Ann of Florida, 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a longtime companion, Illene Embry of Owensboro.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Glenn Funeral Home with Brother Tim Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.
