George Kenneth Moran

George Moran, 82, was born September 8, 1934 in Franklinville, NY to the late Howard and Grace Schultz . He passed away to be with the lord on January 15, 2017 in Owensboro, Kentucky. George earned a bachelors degree and was retired from the United States Army.
George was preceded in death by his wife Joyce Moran in 2010; Sister, Beverly Higby; and a brother, Carl Schultz. He loved to play cards (poker) with his friends, enjoyed helping out at Sts. Joe and Paul Catholic Church where he had been a member for the last 15 years. One of his most favorite things to do in life was spending time with his grandchildren whom he thought hung the moon.
Survivors include his daughters, Cynthia Reed and her husband Mark, and Angie Moran; granddaughters Haley Reed (Derick) and Ryan Simmons (Matt); also two great-great grandchildren, Blake Michael and Savannah Grace.
He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Lou Triesky and Jan Goerss; and a brother, Merl Schultz.
Services will be 10am Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Father Carl McCarthy officiating.
