George William Bill Logsdon, 82, of 4747 Old Hartford Road, Owensboro died ,2006, at home. He was born November 19, 1924 in Daviess County, KY to the late Allen J. and Eunice Greer Logsdon. He was a retired mail carrier with the United States Postal Service, and a member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church for 61 years, and a member of the Class of Caleb Sunday School class. He was an army veteran of World War II, and participated at the Battle of the Bulge. He proudly served in the United States Army, the U. S. Army Reserves, the Army National Guard and the U. S. Air Force Reserves. He was a Mason and a member of the Rizpah Shrine. He was a charter member of Windridge Country Club and an avid golfer. He was active in numerous youth sports organizations, serving as President of the Daviess County High School Booster Club, President of Eastern Little League and a Pop Warner Football Coach. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen, in 1980, Eunice, in 1992, and a daughter, Sharon, who died in 1948.
George was the husband of Erdine Cox Logsdon for 59 years; he was the father of Patrice Pat Wellman and her husband, Bill, of Philpot; Kim Logsdon and his wife, Belinda, of Owensboro; and Wm. Kevin Logsdon and his wife, Coral, of Princeton, KY. George was the loving Grandfather of Wm. Justin Wellman, Chad (Holly) Logsdon, Adam (Jennifer) Logsdon and Ross Wellman, all of Owensboro. George was also the Great Grandfather of Ella Marie Logsdon. He is survived by a brother, J. T. Jim Logsdon, of Plymouth, MI., and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services are at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 10:00 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Eaton Memorial Baptist Church.
