George Malcolm Jackson, 85, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday March 22, 2024. He was born July 8,1938, in Madisonville KY, to the late John Malcom Jackson and Katharine Hicklin Jackson. George was a 1956 graduate of Madisonville High School and the Peabody College of Vanderbilt University with his bachelor’s degree in 1962. He proudly served in the United States Army from January 1957 thru December of 1958.
George retired from Texas Gas where he was a Supervisor of Computer Operations after 27 years of service. He was twice Past President of the local chapter of Data Processing Management Association. George also enjoyed UK football and basketball and loved boating on the Ohio River.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by brother, John Paul Jackson; a sister-n-law, Brenda Jackson; and a brother-in-law, Mark Dees.
George is survived by his wife of 52 years, Anna Keith Jackson; son, Jim Jackson; daughters, Jane Abel (Jim), Leslie Seiber (Russ), Danett Jackson-Underwood (Dennie); grandchildren, Savannah Perry (Erik), Katie Keller, Chris Abel (Allie), Blaine Burden, Taylor Jackson, Jake Jackson and Haley Seiber; his great-grandchildren, Lake Hall, Evan Hall and Wyatt Hall; and a sister; Rita Dees.
A time of gathering for the family and friends of George will be held Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
