George Edwin Haney

George E. Haney Jr., 76, of Owensboro, passed away April 6, 2014 at the Heartford House. He was born in Chicago, IL on November 18, 1937 to the late Willis Wyant Ellis and Annette Schellhase. George served his country in the Air Force for three years. He loved to fly and had built his own airplane. George was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association for 44 years. He enjoyed hunting, being outside and love to cook. Most of all, he loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.

George was preceded in death by his parents and his former wife, Patricia Haney.

Survivors are daughters, Barbara Haney and Judy Habel; sons, William Haney, James Haney, Gregory Haney, and George E. Haney III; brother David Ellis and sisters Janet Norton and Jackie Sackmaster; 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
