George Edward Good

George E. Good, 59, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2023 following a hard-fought battle with cancer. He passed at home, surrounded by his family. George was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut and served in the U.S. Navy for four years.

Mr. Good was employed by the department of corrections in Illinois where he worked his way up to the position of warden during his twenty-five-year career. Following retirement, he and his wife moved to Cape Coral, Florida where they attended Grace Church. They moved to The Summit area of Owensboro in February of 2023 to be closer to family. George was also an avid golfer and St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Elroy Good.

Mr. Good is survived by his wife, Nicole Good, together for seventeen years; a daughter, Rebecca Good; his mother, Judith Good; and step-sons, Josiah Hobson (Bethany), Tyler Harris (Sarah) and Kenny Harris (Liz). He was “Grampy” to Kendalee and Carter Harris. He is also survived by sisters, Sherry Bradley and Michele Colaprete (Gary).

The funeral service will be at 4:00 PM, Saturday, November 11 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 4:00 Saturday at the funeral home.
