George Lee "Punkin" Gilmore, 54, of 1341 Payne Ave., Owensboro, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2008 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Daviess Co., Ky. and had worked as a heavy equipment operator for Gadcon, Inc. He enjoyed participating in drag racing and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Martha Gilmore on Jan. 5, 2001.
Surviving are his brothers and sisters, Benny "Buzzy" Atkinson of Foley, Ala., Bobby Gilmore and companion Patricia of Owensboro, Bessie K, Luttrell and husband Jim of Maceo, Nadine Ranson and Billie Wilhite and husband Vince, all of Owensboro, and his father, Deeny Gilmore and wife Bonnie of Owensboro, three stepbrothers and sisters, Karen Austin and husband Gary of Masonville, Sherry Evans and husband Paul of Thomasville, Ga., and Kenny Parrish and wife Leslie of Henderson, and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and burial will be 2:30 P.M. Sunday, August 31, at Kelly Cemetery in Maceo. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Saturday and after 12 Noon Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home.
