George William Frantz

George William Bill Frantz, 71, of Owensboro, died Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Owensboro Medical Health System. The Daviess Co. native was born March 13, 1935 to the late Bernard and Sally Jackson Frantz. Mr. Frantz was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church, a former member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and a retiree from Big Rivers. He always had a smile on his face and a song in his heart. He was a kind and gentle spirit that loved his wife and family.

In addition to his parents, those preceding him in death include his daughter, Angela Carol Frantz; his brothers, Joseph Earl Frantz and James Bernard Buck Frantz; and his sisters, Dora Elizabeth Tucker-Payne, Virgie May Purcell, Rosie Pettus, Gertrude Bowlds, Ruby Lee Beard Pickering and Golda Helen Frantz.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Marcella Ann Marty Frantz; his son and daughter-in-law, William Todd and Virginia Ann Jenny Frantz of New Albany, IN; his daughter, Tammy Jo Henry of Owensboro; his grandchildren, Matthew Tyler Henry of Owensboro and Emily Jane Thompson and William Tyler Frantz both of New Albany, IN; his brothers, John Daniel Frantz of Owensboro and Jack Carlton Frantz of Niceville, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 1, 2007 at Glenn Funeral Home with Dr. Dean Weber officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. tomorrow and again on Monday from 11:30 a.m. until service time at Glenn Funeral Home.
