George R. Dennis

George R. Dennis, 77, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday December 7, 2014 at the Owensboro Center. He was born March 14, 1937 in Muhlenburg Co. to the late Ennis and Aretta Vincent Dennis. George was of the Baptist faith. He was self-employed having owned a sewer and drain cleaning business. He enjoyed flea marketing, buying and selling salvaged cars, and dancing. He had a school bus that he had converted in to a camper that he enjoyed. He was also preceded in death by a son, Clifton Dennis and two brothers, Jackie and Kenneth Dennis.

Survivors include his sons, Billy Dennis of Owensboro, Barry (Mamie) Dennis of Nashville, TN, Robert Dennis of Owensboro, George Allen Dennis of Owensboro; daughters, Gayle Whitney of Owensboro, Misty Hillard of Owensboro, Geraldine (Warren) Havener of Owensboro, Renee (Nathan) Frashure of Lewisport, 18 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, brothers, Roy (Misty) Dennis and Bubby (Jean) Dennis, both of Owensboro, a sister, Bonnie (Glen) Bilbry of Owensboro, and a special family friend and caregiver, Annetta Francis of Owensboro.

Service will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 10, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Calhoun Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
