George H. Clark

George H. Clark, age 90 of Owensboro passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Hardinsburg, KY on January 2, 1922 to the late Willie and Lillie Clark.
George was a proud veteran of the World War II conflict, where he served in the Army and received the Purple Heart for his sacrifice. He provided for his family by working as a mechanic for Sturgeon Pontiac and retired in 1983. He was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church for over ten years. George enjoyed hunting, camping and anything outdoors. Those who hunted with George knew that he enjoyed the occasional prank or joke during their hunting trips. You didn't need to have money to have a good time with George. He was truly a family man who put them first.
Aside from his loving parents, George is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Georgia Mirl Clark, his three children; George Mitchell Clark , Diana Clark, Charles Don Clark.
He is survived by his 5 loving children; James Jerry Clark ( Mary Francis) of Owensboro, Anthony Wayne Clark( Patsy) of Owensboro, Curtis Ray Clark ( Susie) of Owensboro, Paul Darriel Clark ( Marilyn) of Whitesville and Dennis Roger Clark ( Mary Susan) of Georgetown, four brothers; William Clark ( Billy) of Madisonville, Cicero Clark of Hardinsburg, Myrl Clark of Oakland, CA, Adrian Clark of Owensboro, three sisters; Alice Henning, Marie Butler and Tauebel Moore all of Hardinsburg. He also leaves behind 25 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00PM on Thursday at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with Father John Meredith as celebrant. Entombment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00PM on Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, and after 10:00AM on Thursday at the funeral home. Prayer service will be at 6:00PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Veterans Administration.
