George W. Boone

George W. Junior Boone, Sr., 74, of 2101 Barron Drive, died Saturday, October 12, 2002 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Hospital in Evansville.

The Daviess County native retired from Carpenters Union #549 and was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral. He was an avid motorcyclist, a charter member of the American Motorcycle Association, a former expert flat track racer, and was the former owner of the Boone Honda dealership.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Alice Mae Boone, a son, George W. Billy Boone, Jr., two daughters, Janie Cecil of Philpot, KY and Ann L. Kilroy of Ft. Mill, SC, 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, one niece and one nephew.

Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home. Visitation is from 3 until 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Iron Ore Hill Cemetery in Daviess County. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The Carmel Home.
