George Elwood Birkhiemer

George Elwood Birkhiemer III, 78, of Owensboro, passed away May 14, 2017 at home. He was born November 21, 1938 in Tyler Co., West Virginia to the late George Elwood Birkhiemer II and Marjorie Birkhiemer Gray. George was a retired general supervisor for National Southwire Aluminum, where he spent 31 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and woodworking.

George is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda Poole Birkhiemer; children, Kimberly K. Hagan (Tommy), Julia Lynn Pearl (Frank) and James Aaron Birkhiemer (Belinda); 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Fr. Pat Connell officiating. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
