Genevieve (Genny) Rumage Galloway, 89, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at home. She was born Jan. 16, 1936, in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Robert and Martine (Wink) Rumage. Genny was a graduate of Owensboro Catholic High School class of 1953, a member of Immaculate Catholic Church, and a long-time member of the Legion of Mary.
Along with her parents, Genny was also preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Alfred Galloway; brothers, Robert (Bob), Hugh, and Norman Rumage; sister, Betty Bickett; sisters-in-law, Ann and Linda Rumage; brothers‑in-law, Alvin Bickett, Peter Wright, and Michael Hardin; and great‑grandchildren, Kaylee and Ellison Howard.
Surviving are her siblings, Sharon Hardin of Fordsville, Carolyn Infanti of Owensboro, and Ronald (Rosemary) Rumage of Owensboro; and sisters-in-law, Mary Rumage and Joann Galloway of Owensboro; children, Connie Dant, Jackie White, Gerald Galloway, Deborah Istre, Bruce (Cynthia) Galloway all of Owensboro, and Elaine (Dwight) Dillon of Olive Hill, Kentucky; grandchildren, Dwight (Jeb) Dillon, Jeremy Dant, Harlan Dillon, Eric White, Jason Dillon, Emilee (Istre) Woods, Sean Dant, Seth Dant, Brandon Istre, Nicole White, Valerie (Dant) Simmons, Nathan Howard, Rebeccah (Howard) Diaz, Zachary Galloway, Sarah (Howard) Cline, Joshua Galloway, Jonathan Dillon, Jacob Dillon, Bethany Galloway, and Adrianna (Dillon) Oliver; numerous great-grandchildren; and countless nieces and nephews.
Unending gratitude to all of her friends at Immaculate Church, especially Linda Rocco.
The funeral Mass for Genny will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at Immaculate Catholic Church with Father Larry McBride and Father John Vaughan officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 8 a.m. until time of the Mass at the church. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
