Geneva Allen "Genny" Stevens, 87, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Wellington Parc. Born in Campbellsville on October 13, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Adolphus and Sarah Kerr Allen; was a registered nurse; was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church and the Mary Lou Phillips Sunday School Class; and was an Army Nurse Corps veteran of World War II. Mrs. Stevens was a former president of the Ladies Medical Auxiliary and was a member of the Bridge Club and Garden Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Elliott P. Stevens in 2010 and a brother, William Allen.
Survivors include her son, Allen Stevens and his wife Joan of Owensboro; daughters, Lynn Tomasetti and her husband Mike of Villa Hills, KY and Leslie Hartlage and her husband Mark of Lexington; grandsons, Craig Tomasetti (Maria), Chris Tomasetti (Sarah), Bryan Tomasetti (Courtney Trainor), and Todd Hartlage (Beth Hill); great-grandchildren, Alex Tomasetti, Brayden Tomasetti, Connor Tomasetti, Ava Tomasetti and Reese Tomasetti; and a sister, Helen Squires of Winston-Salem, NC.
Services are 12 noon Monday, June 20, 2011 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Darren Brandon officiating followed by burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday and after 10 a.m. on Monday.
