Geneva Young Parker

Geneva Young Parker, 91, formerly of Owensboro, died Thursday, October 2, 2003 at the Medco Nursing Home in Hardinsburg, KY. The Hancock County native was retired from General Electric where she was secretary for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Owensboro and the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Parker in 1982.

She is survived by seven nieces, Marcia Simmons of Warsaw, KY , Vicki Buford of Owensboro, Dar Lena DePriest of Bigelow, AR, Carol Hill and Anita Cardwell of Providence, Dee Griffin of Hancock County and Beverly Bolen of Owensboro; five nephews, Michael Young and Tracy Young of Chicago, Dennis Allen Young of Calif., Monty Young of Cincinnati, and Carroll Young of Owensboro; and several great nieces and nephews, including Shelly Jeffries,Donna Hinton and Holly Gedling of Hardinsburg who were her primary caregivers.

Funeral services are 10 A.M. Saturday, October 4, 2003 at the Glenn Funeral Home with entombment in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-8 P.M. Friday and after 8:30 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Resident Council of the Medco Nursing Home in Hardinsburg.
