Geneva Louise Jacob

Geneva Louise Jacob, 97, of Owensboro, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky and surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 17, 1926, to the late John Walker and Mary Emma Ragland. Geneva was a previous member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was an amazing mother and a great cook. Geneva loved dancing, UK basketball, family get togethers’, and the Lord.

In addition to her parents, Geneva is preceded in death by her most recent husband, Thomas Jacob; second husband, James Worth; first husband, Lyman Douglas Black; son, Howell Wayne Black; and brother, J.W. Ragland

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Phil Douglas Black (Doretha), Sheila Fay Grant (Clint), Sandra Howard, Terry Grant Black (Tracey), and Tim R. Black (Karen); sister, Thelma Hines; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service for Geneva will be 2 PM Thursday, November 9, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 10 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
