Gene Peyton

Gene Peyton, age 62, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2012 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born on August 9, 1950 in Daviess County, Kentucky.

Gene graduated from Owensboro High School and then joined the Army where he was stationed in Korea. Gene retired from Bell South (now AT&T) where he worked as an electronic technician. He was an avid fan of UK Basketball, and enjoyed golfing with his wife.

Gene is preceded in death by his grandparents; Walter and Effie Dean, John and Rene Peyton.

Left behind to mourn the passing of Mr. Peyton is his loving wife of 42 years, Dianne Tweddell Peyton ( they were sweethearts since the age of 14), his two parents; Bobby and Betty Peyton , his son; Patrick Peyton, his brother; John Peyton and his father and mother in-law; Bill and Irene Tweddell , all of Owensboro. He also leaves behind many friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 16th in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, with Brother Dr. Dennis McFadden officiating the service. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum of Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00PM until 8:00PM and after 12:00PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
