Gayle Andrea McHenry Newton

Gayle Andrea McHenry Newton, 63, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Ohio County on December 4, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Ozeal Beard McHenry; worked as an annealer at Kentron Manufacturing, a beautician at the House of Hair, and a nurse; and attended the Church of the Living God. She was the loving Nanny to Kennedy and Kambri Hamilton and Alexandria Chappell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Anita McHenry Wells and a brother, Elwood McHenry.

Surviving is a son, Charles Monroe Newton of Owensboro; sisters, Mary McHenry and Ina Jean Taylor of Owensboro; a brother, Kenneth McHenry of Owensboro; a brother-in-law, William Wells of Hartford; a friend she loved like a sister, Ava Conley; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services are 10 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory followed by burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday and after 9 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
