Gary L. Risley, 71, of Dixiana Drive, Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born on October 4, 1942 in Daviess Co., to the late Robert P. and Henrietta Risley. Gary was a retired electrician after 44 years with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local #1701 and having been a member for over 50 years. He was a member of Owensboro Church of Christ.

An avid outdoorsman, Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being in nature. He often fondly recalled good times of trips to Kansas and Gatlinburg with close friends, and enjoyed his card games. Gary enjoyed people and never met a stranger . Most of all, Gary was a wonderful husband and Father whose greatest love was his family, especially his grandchildren, and he never missed an opportunity to tell them he loved them.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Donna K. Risley, his son, Troy Risley of Paducah, his daughter, Amy Schuster and husband Beau of Louisville, four grandchildren, Alli, Kaden, and Camryn Risley, and Maxson Schuster, a brother, Robert P. Risley, Jr. and wife Erma of Owensboro, and a sister, Debi Holly of Hernando, Fla.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, November 11, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00-7:00 P.M. Sunday and after 11:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Owensboro Church of Christ Preschool Scholarship Fund, 3300 U. S. Highway 60 East, Owensboro, KY 42303.
