Gary E. Miller

Gary E. Miller, 58, of Owensboro, died on September 27, 2013 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in New Berne, North Carolina to Kenneth and Leatha Miller.

Gary served in the U.S. Army from 1972 -1974.

He owned and operated Gary's Appliance Service and Sales for more than 20 years. Gary had previously worked as supervisor of security at the hospital. He was a very sociable and generous man who never met a stranger. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren. Gary also enjoyed trips with family, especially to destinations with a beach. He also had a passion for the guitar and even wrote his own music. He will be missed by many.

He was preceded in death by his father, who passed way when Gary was 8; a brother, Glenn Ray Miller and a nephew, Carl Ray Miller.

Gary is survived by his wife of 35 years, Kay Miller; a daughter, Amber Miller; a son, Kevin Miller (Jessica); grandchildren, Jordan, Kaleb, Samuel Patrick, Addison, Jaxon and Ava Nicole (due in November); his mother, Leatha Miller; sisters, Donna Wayne (David) and Lisa Frantz; brothers, Kenny Miller (Carolyn) and Vernon Miller, all of Owensboro and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 10 AM on Wednesday, October 2 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Rev. Kenneth Stone will officiate. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 3-8 PM and on Wednesday after 9 AM at the funeral home.
