Gary Curtis Martin, 51, of 1700 Harvest Hill Court, Owensboro, died, Sunday, July 13, 2003, at his home, due to a terminal lung disease. He was born in Daviess County and was a former employee of Estes Expresslines, and a present employee of Wyndalls Foodland. He was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church. His favorite pastime was spending time with family and grandchildren. His father, Carl Jessie Martin, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Gayla S. Martin; his mother, Georgia Christine Martin; four children, Danyel Lashelle Martin-Barber, Justin Aaron Martin and Dustin Heath Martin, all of Owensboro, and Angel Lanett Hillard of Hartford, KY; six grandchildren; three brothers, Carl Jessie Martin, Jr. and Jeffrey Lynn Martin, both of Owensboro, and Michael Wayne Martin of Madisonville, KY; two sisters, Donna Kay Clater of Maceo, and Lillie Ann Back of Burlington, North Carolina.

Funeral services will be held, 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2003 at Walnut Memorial Baptist Church. His family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2003 and from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at Glenn Funeral Home. Before the funeral services, on Thursday, friends will be received at Walnut Memorial Baptist Church, from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Adams, Ricky Barber, Darrell Hillard, Mike Martin, Bobby Back, and Carl Martin.

Any memorial contributions should be provided to the immediate family.
