Gary Lawless, 63, of Owensboro, went to heaven and into the presence of Christ, his Savior on February 12, 2016 under the care of Hospice of W. Kentucky. He was born August 1, 1952 in Malvern, Arkansas to the late Emmett and Louise Applin Lawless. Gary was first and foremost a follower of Jesus Christ and a devoted husband and loving father. He was a long time member and deacon of Heritage Baptist Church with a huge heart for missions which prompted him to learn Spanish. Gary worked as a Respiratory Therapist at Owensboro Health for over thirty-six years and loved biking, running, and working out at the Healthpark where he established many friendships.
Mr. Lawless was preceded in death by a daughter, Leah Lawless in 1987 and a brother, Robert Lawless in 1988.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Patsy; his daughter, Janna Hout and husband Justin of Owensboro; son, Jared, of Owensboro; brothers, Mike and wife Sheila of Palm Coast, Florida, Jim and wife Pam of Lexington, John and wife Kim of Lexington, Chuck and wife DeeDee of Bowling Green, Andy and wife Jennie of Owensboro, Richard and wife Denise of Arlington, Texas; sister, Mary Beth Evans and husband Brad of Flower Mound, Texas; grandson, Parker Hout; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express special appreciation to Mike Sisley and the Respiratory Dept. for their special love and concern during Gary's illness.
The service will be Tuesday, February 16 at 11:00 AM at Heritage Baptist Church with Pastors Ted Christman, Keith Maddy, Jonathan Christman, and Mark Redfern officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 to 7:00 and Tuesday from 9:00 AM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
