Gary W. Brewer

Gary W. Brewer, 63, of Owensboro passed away on Tuesday, September 1 at his home. Born February 13, 1952 to the late Richard Neal Smith and Elizabeth Brewer Smith.

Gary was retired from the Air Force and the Army and was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. His passion was music and he had a great voice as well as played the guitar. He especially loved Neil Diamond and enjoyed imitating him in his singing.

Gary is survived by his wife and best friend of over four years, Julie Wallner Brewer; a son, Gary Smith Jr. (Amy) of Huntly, IL; a daughter, Jenny Kniprath (Dean) of Nekoosa, WI; three sisters, Pamela Higdon (James) of LaGrange, Patricia Nunn (Robb) of Elizabethtown, and Paula Newsom (Herman) of Dacula, GA; a step-sister, Susan Shaver of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.

The funeral will be 10:00 AM Friday at the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be 4pm-8pm Thursday and from 9am Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
